You're under-using
your Claude & Codex plan
Every other usage tool warns you about the cap. Wideroom does the opposite. It reads your tokens locally and shows how much of the plan you already paid for is sitting unused this week.
Green doesn't mean "safe." Green means you're getting your money's worth. Rate limits read as a budget you haven't spent, not a wall you haven't hit.
What it does
Live usage windows
5-hour session, weekly, and model-specific quotas. Refreshed at a polite interval, well inside what the upstream APIs allow.
Pace projection
At your current burn rate, where will you land by reset? Push harder or coast, the answer is one glance away.
14-day patterns
Local history surfaces your peak burn hour, heaviest weekday, and the share of your plan you average each week.
Claude and Codex in one app
Tap to switch between providers. Each keeps its own dashboard, history, and credentials. No double install.
Local-only by design
Your OAuth tokens never leave the machine. The app talks to Anthropic and OpenAI directly, the same way their CLIs do.
Built like an instrument
Fixed window, hard corners, etched VU-style meters. A small, opinionated tool that sits where you work.
Privacy & security
Your tokens stay local
Wideroom reads OAuth tokens directly from
~/.claude/.credentials.json and
~/.codex/auth.json, the same files the official
CLIs use. They never reach my server, because I don't run one.
You can verify this on the wire: every outbound request goes
to either api.anthropic.com or
chatgpt.com, never to me.
No account, no sign-in
There is no Wideroom account. Nothing to log into, nothing to forget. Your license key is a receipt stored locally. The app runs the same whether you have one or not.
Crash reports are opt-in
Off by default. If you turn it on, anonymous error reports help me catch real bugs I wouldn't otherwise hear about. Tokens and usage numbers are scrubbed before sending either way. Off and nothing leaves the machine.
Open about what gets sent
Update checks ping basepurpose.com for a version
manifest. License activation pings the merchant once on
activate and once a week thereafter. That is the entire list.
Download
One small Tauri binary per platform. A few megabytes. No installer accounts. License keys are optional during launch.
Pricing
Pay what you want above $5. The license key is the receipt, not a gate. The app works either way.
Get WideroomPricing may move to a fixed fee later. Any license you buy stays valid for the version you bought.
